The Scottish Programme
The CIF-Scotland (UK) Programme takes place every year, during six weeks
in May and June. Up to eight candidates who have been nominated by the
DIF Branch in their own country (where this is established) are selected
to participate in the programme, which is based in Perth, Scotland.
The programme starts with an orientation week during which the
international group remain together. Following this, participants move
to one or more placements in statutory or voluntary agencies within
Scotland, depending on the type of work they wish to study. Host family
living is an essential element of the experience, and during the
programme, participants can expect to live with up to three host
families. The programme ends with a reunion and evaluation before
participants leave for home. Tips about living with host families
There is no fee for the Scottish programme, and some internal travel
costs may be covered. Bed, breakfast and evening meal are provided in
the host families but participants are responsible for their other daily
living expenses. Learn how to apply here
